Till it's over: Your doctor should instruct you to stop wearing your contact lenses until your pink eye has completely resolved. Whether viral or bacterial, the critters causing your pink eye can survive on your contacts and reinfect you. Better yet, throw out that pair and start a fresh pair after your pink eye has resolved. But don't start wearing contact lenses again until after your pink eye has resolved.

I woke up with double pink eye with green discharge. Will collodial silver drops help? How long do I wait to see dr?

I woke up with double pink eye with green discharge. Will collodial silver drops help? How long do I wait to see dr?

Best see doc today: Most conjunctivitis ("pink eye") is due to viruses; adenonvirus it the name of one of the common causes. However, "green discharge" is worrisome for a bacterial infection, in which case an antibiotic eyedrop or ointment may be necessary. And even a viral infection may benefit from soothing eyedrops. Colloidal silver isn't likely to help. Call your doctor's office, even though it's the weekend.
