Shoulder pain: You're describing features of decreased range of motion with swelling and pain. All in one joint. I am not sure if this problem is gradual or sudden and whether ther is a history of trauma. However, it seems that she has an inflammatory process that could be affecting the shoulder joint or adjacent tendons and ligaments. Would need more history, x rays, and good exam. ...Read more

A sliver goes in -: -smoothly, but has rough edges, & when pulled out, there can B a wood fragment left behind. Even if not, U probably have an infection from the contaminated wood. Best 2 C a fellowship trained hand surgeon. A small residual fragment is hare 2 C on imaging . Many times it just has 2B explored, & hope it is all removed. Could B, but also-: -could be due 2 blood under the nail. The body has amazing pressure sensors, that protects us. It's the body telling you 2 cool it. Use it less. 2 be sure, an X-ray is needed, but if it looks like a finger & not pointing in the wrong direction, it will heal if you take care.
