My boyfriend had a seizure and he fell and hit face on pavement his face is really swollen. How long does it take for swelling to go down?

Depends on severity: The rate of resolution of the swelling will depend on the severity and location of where he hit his face. More importantly, the fact that he had a seizure, fell, and hit his face should prompt an immediate evaluation in the ER. If he has a known seizure disorder, then he should see his neurologist to get his seizures under better control. http://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/ency/article/003200.htm ...Read more

An MRI revealed a fracture on the condyle of my femur. Will it heal on it's own? What can I do to speed recovery? (knee swelling, lost quad strength)

It is possible that you had some bone edema in the condyle (which can be interpreted as a fracture). If this is the case then, treat with a good NSAID (motrin/naprosyn), rest, possibly therapy. If you truly have a fracture this may need surgery or at the least a cast. ...Read more
