Varible: Highly variable depending on the location of the tear (proximal/ midsubstance / distal), the degree of the tear (partial / complete), the mass of the hamstring involved (it is made up of 3 muscles) and finally what type work you are trying to return to (sedentary / active). Oftentimes in my practice, patients may return to play too soon and then it becomes a lingering issue for some time. Generally speaking 4-6 weeks should heal it.
