No one knows but...: No one can answer with certainty but an analysis of 63 research studies show an impressive 42% reduction in diarrhea secondary to antibiotics, a very common problem. However, these studies used different strains & doses. Probiotic species like Lactobacillus, Bifidobacterium & Sarcomycetes are perfectly safe to ingest as long as you have a healthy immune system. Yes and no: when u take the antibiotics, wait a couple of hours to take the probiotics, otherwise the antibiotics will kill the probiotics. The way I tell patients is "if you take the antibiotics at 8 in the morning and 8 in the evening, take the probiotics at noon and bedtime."
