How long should I be off of norco (hydrocodone and acetaminophen) before having a baby?

How long should I be off of norco (hydrocodone and acetaminophen) before having a baby?

Depends: Norco (hydrocodone and acetaminophen) has a short half life. It is not detectable in the urine ~4-5 days after the last use. I understand that you are trying to get off of it before conceiving a baby. You have to keep in mind that it will not be an easy quit as going off it can cause withdrawal and it may be a real problem to deal with, so if you plan to have a baby, i suggest you get off Norco (hydrocodone and acetaminophen) way before you conceive. ...Read more

How safe is it to take norco (hydrocodone and acetaminophen) while pregnant I'm almost 8 months and stopped taking it 4 months ago will my babies be addicted I only took about 4 out?

Baby will be fine: In general, doctors try not to give narcotics during pregnancy. It sounds like you didn't take very much and it was a long time ago. There is basically zero risk that your baby would be addicted. Remember that your body processes medications first and then the medications have to cross through the placenta which also metabolizes medications (double protection for the baby). ...Read more

Withdrawl: The best way to get off narcotics short term is to taper or reduce dose slowly over days. The larger the dose and the longer the time taking it will make withdrawal a more difficult task. You may require professional help and treatment of side effects through the weaning process. ...Read more

Gentle wean: Hydrocodone & oxycodone aren't good long term on the liver. When was the last time your liver function (LFTs) were checked? Knowing what this # is is helpful with determining what 6 years of ingestion has done to your liver. A gentle wean over 5-6 months (cut out a dose each month) is probably what you'll need in order to come off of these without withdrawal issues. It is quite do-able. ...Read more

I have found that tylenol (acetaminophen) 3 has help more than the Norco and my concern is that I will be out of medicine and have been off and on due to the fact that im waiting on a new doctor end of next month?

I have found that tylenol (acetaminophen) 3 has help more than the Norco and my concern is that I will be out of medicine and have been off and on due to the fact that im waiting on a new doctor end of next month?

Walk-in Urgent Care: See someone in a walk-in clinic or urgent care before you run out of medication. Most doctors will be thrilled to give you tylenol (acetaminophen) with codeine instead of norco, since it may be less addicting, and isn't a preferred drug of abuse at the moment. For all controlled substance prescriptions, an in -person doctor visit with history and physical is required. ...Read more

75mg Lyrica (pregabalin) and 20mg baclofen for peripheral neuropathy. How long after can I take 5/325 norco for pain ??

See details: Avoid taking narcotics at all if possible. The addiction risks increase the longer you take it. Instead, increase the Lyrica (pregabalin) dose. I am not sure Baclifen has all that much benefit. Finally, identify and treat the cause of the neuropathy. ...Read more

Is long term use of norco (hydrocodone and acetaminophen) safe?

Norco (hydrocodone and acetaminophen) safety: Norco (hydrocodone and acetaminophen) is essentially hydrocodone with Acetaminophen (tylenol).
