Depends on test: Some people bruise easier than others, but you should be evaluated to make sure your blood clots normally. If they checked your liver function along with a PTT and a PT/INR and those all came back normal, THEN I'd be less concerned, but you should work with your doctor to find out what is happening until your doctor says he/she believes everything is fine and you need no further testing. ...Read more

Hematoma: Some of the blood apparently escaped from the vein into the surrounding tissue when blood was withdrawn for testing. This happens sometimes but should be small and should slowly resolve (it first looks like a bluish bruise then turns brownish and finally over few days it becomes firm and eventually resolves.
