Is the bodybuilding bad for a person who has too much fat? Shoud he only run on treadmill or walk. ..Without working with dumbles to get big muscles?
Yes it's ok: It's perfectly fine for any body type to work on muscle strengthening. The goal does not need to be to get big muscles - instead, maintaining tone and strength by doing strength training will improve your overall fitness and also improve your metabolism, which can aid in weight loss. I weigh 170 and I'm 5"5 I been walking on a treadmill for week I want to be down to 130 how long will that take me I also eat healthy?
Year and Half: About 1/2 pound a week is a healthy rate of loss. 40 pounds will take 80 weeks, but you might be able to go a little faster. Fruits and vegetables will help it be healthy. Avoid sugar, bread, pasta, potatoes and rice. Drink plenty of water. Exercise moderately at least some every day so you get a good habit. Stop smoking and drinking alcohol if you use those. A little alcohol a day is ok. Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
Running or fast walking on treadmill for losing weight? For how long daily? & best time morning b4 or after breakfast? Or afternoon better? Thx :)
Treadmill walking.: I always tell people to do cardiovascular exercise before breakfast, as you'll burn much more fat calories for energy than you would if you exercise after eating. Start with 20 minutes on most days of the week and build up from there as it gets easier. Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
I walk on the treadmill every day for an hour at 4.1 mph. I've read that long slow walking leads to weight gain because of muscle loss. Why?
Exercise: FirstA959~ weight loss is the result of negative calorie intake wrt work output (exercise). So, if you take in 3000cal/day and expend 3500cal/day the 500 burned = weight loss. As a guide the exercise must be > your baseline activity, and must be significant and protracted. If you are morbidly obese walking 4.1mph for 30- 60 mins is significant and won't cause weight gain.EXERCISE! Read more
When walking on the treadmill or hiking for longer than 45 minutes, I get numbness on the bottom of one foot. it feels like its asleep. What is this?
May not be so simple: Exercise related foot numbness can be a presenting symptom of sciatica, although more commonly would also be expected to be painful. Another possibility is peripheral vascular disease, meaning decreased blood supply to the lower leg. If you have weakness in your foot, your leg gives way or have any wounds on your foot you did not feel, consult your physician soon. Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

How much weight can I loose in 3 months by walking 30 minutes on treadmill at 4.7 km/hr or by running 30 minutes on treadmill at 7 km/hr?
Not Sure: I'm not sure about the weight loss relationship to your walking or running, but I am certain that the correct amount of exercise and the type of exercise best suited to your needs is whatever you will enthusiastically stick to over the long run. All too often people "burn out" chasing an exact target of minutes and speed. Read more
Either is great.: Assuming you're wearing adequate footwear, walking is a great low-impact aerobic exercise. I believe that all being equal walking outside is a better exercise
on the treadmill you merely go up and down while the treadmill moves
outside you actually push the air resistance out of the way
also it's good to get fresh air
save the treadmill for those bad weather days. Read more
Use more cal/min: U r doing more work not only propelling ur self forward but u r also lifting ur body also, therefore using more energy and burning more cals. I am walking/jogging on a treadmill for an hour through the week. What else can I do to lose the weight?
Cardio Mix: If you have adipose tissue that you'd like to lose then consider an increase in cardio and a balanced diet. However, do not always do the same exercise or you will increase your risks for stress injuries. Mix things up with running, biking, swimming, or circuit training. Ultimately you need to burn more than you consume. Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
