Stomach Bloating After A Colonoscopy
I feel bloat my stomach for long yrs and I pass gas more than 100 time a day. I being tested by colonoscopy but nothing found on my li what shall I do?
Bloated: Bloating is usually a dietary issue, and often there is nothing grossly wrong on endoscopy. I would try an elimination diet, usually bloating is related to some degree of wheat sensitivity. Also, trying a course of probiotics may help.
Gas is there: During colonoscopy, gas is used to help inflate the colon to enable it to be advanced. Bloating from gas in the colon (also known as teh large intestine) is common. The gas should be within your colon, which is in your abdomen. No gas is put into the stomach when doing lower endoscopy = colonoscopy.See 1 more doctor answer

Need more info: Would need to know why did you have the colonoscopy? What were your symptoms before the colonoscopy? What were the results of your colonoscopy? This may be simple constipation ; need to drink more liquids and use a laxative. But I do not know your medical history, best is to contact your gastroenterologist or doctor who performed the colonoscopy to get instructions.
Had a colonoscopy done over a week ago. I have had 1 bm since and stomach hurts and is very hard and bloated. Is this normal? I am 31 years old
Call your GI doctor: Not the usual. Would see the doctor that did the colonoscopy for evalutation of this issue
I'm 40. Feeling bloated for more than a week now with frequent urination. Discomfort feeling both in upper & lower abdomen. Should I get colonoscopy?
Bloated feeling under right ribs, tan colored stools too. Liver blood 4 months ago was fine. Abdominal US and colonoscopy normal. What could it be?
Hemobilia: The condition you are referring to is Hemobilia. It is defined as hemorrhage into the biliary tract. Associated with it can be jaundice, right-sided upper abdominal pain, and hematemesis. The condition can originate from iatrogenic injury, a malignant hepatic or biliary tumor, and coagulopathy due to end-stage liver cirrhosis. Duodenoscopy will frequently reveal bleeding from the papilla.
Child has stomach pains, bloated stomach, high sed rate, dr ruled out constipation and colonoscopy and endoscopy ok. Any suggestions?
Food intolerance: I'm sorry to hear about your child's troubles. Sometimes food intolerance ; allergies can cause discomfort. Common food allergies include dairy products as well as gluten which is very common ; difficult to avoid. Blood work can determine if she should undergo a very strict diet: http://www. Mayoclinic. After longconstipation/blockage colonoscopy, taking Citrucel but still bloated, sore stomach. What should my doc check next? Is this damage that can heal?
Gut flora needs: To be balanced. Consider seeing a nutritionist and taking a Probiotic. (Dr. Ohira brand is a good one.) Stick w/your doc so any medical conditions can be identified or ruled out. Possible food sensitivity. Great Plains Laboratory in KS has a good lab test for that. Peace and good health.
After I eat fiber foods I get bloated and abdominal discomfort. Been having constipation problems. Colonoscopy endoscopy CT scan normal. Why is this?
I have had hypothyroidism. I got C. Diff back in July & don't have anymore but still recovering. My stomach area is very bloated (protruding) & I can't stop burping & passing gas. Do I have ulcer? How can I help? I got CT scan & colonoscopy = nothing
Bacterial overgrowth: You give the symptoms of bacterial overgrowth syndrome which is a form of irritable bowel syndrome. The cause of this is a prior intestinal infection of any kind. You need to test for bacterial overgrowth syndrome. Less likely to be an ulcer. Avoid gas producing foods like onions. Avoid spicy foods. Take lactobacillus in pill form daily. Other probiotics could worsen problem. Follow up with GI MD.
It has been 2 months since I had my colonnoscopy and my stomach is still bloated. What can I do to get this air out? Or what can I take for this? T.Y
Not due to your: Colonoscopy. Most gas from a scope is gone in 12-24 hours. You may have an imbalance in gut bacteria soa probiotic such as florastor or align may help. Also don't go overboard on fiber as too much fiber and not enough fluids can ccause bloating as well. Be sure to drink 80-100 ounces of caffeine free/alcohol free fluids daily.See 1 more doctor answer
Colonoscopy: Yes totally normal and this is due to gas that was used during the procedure. The pain should be decreasing and this gets better as the gas passes over time. If the pain has been getting worse then you must see the gastroenterologist for him/her to evaluate.
Two-days post colonoscopy and still very bloated and no appetite. Long, tortuous colon so is this normal?
May be: Depends.....it should be better by now. Some may need time. Some times improper instrument cleaning can introduce/cause infection. If bx/resection ofpolyp is done it may contribute.
Since my endo and colonoscopy on tuesday IV had sharp abdominal pain that's constant. They did take biopsies but should I be in discomfort this long?
Would endoscopy and colonoscopy with a few biopsies in stomach make a ddimer blood test result higher? If so how long til it would go back to normal?
Doubt it...: D-dimer concentration may help diagnose thrombosis and DIC (Disseminated Intravascular Coagulation) but a elevated level does not rule out other potential causes. False positive readings can be due to: liver disease, high rheumatoid factor, inflammation, malignancy, trauma, pregnancy, recent surgery as well as advanced age.
Can anyone give some suggestions as to what I may have? Ok long story short im sick, I've had xrays done blood work urine test ultra sounds colonoscopy gastroscope exam, even had my gallbladder removed (how this all began) my symptoms are: sever abdominal
You: You need a thorough checkup, possibly with ct scan or mri, there is no way anyone could pinpoint the diagnosis from the plethora of symptoms you have. More than likely, it is not something you could shrug off; if this were me, I would be in my doctors waiting room or possibly even er today. Please do not take this lightly, you need medical attention now.
I have been having unusually short, long and heavy periods (7 days) for 6 months. Bad reflux started at the same time in may. I got ultrasound, abdominal CT and colonoscopy done. The upper GI was with hh ca-125 11. Ovarian cancer was ruled out. Could it be
