How soon after ingrown toenail minor surgery should I wait to play football it's just touch football no contact?
Post-op period: Usually ingrown nail surgery is done under local anesthesia. I usually tell my patients to stay away from sports for 10-14 days. Even though you're playing touch football it's the shoes that I'm concerned about. You don't want any friction or trauma to the toe that would delay healing. You should soak your toe in epsom salt and warm water every night. Apply betadine or centany cream on toe after. ...Read more

After dental surgery, it's important for a blood clot to form to stop the bleeding and begin the healing process. Exercise is definitely not recommended on the day of removal, or even several days after removal.
Exercise will raise the heart rate and not allow blood to properly heal all the damage. I would suggest waiting 7 days before playing football. Regards. ...Read more

Physical therapy ++: You'll certainly need to build up the muscles that attach to the knee (quads, hamstrings, calf muscles etc), and do a lot of specified therapy by a well trained sports physical therapist. But when, or if, you should go back to playing football will be related to what type of football, what level of play, what procedure u had, how well u recovered: in other words, what the 'orthopod' says. ...Read more

I'm active in sports especially football and I do wear glasses. Is lasic surgery safe for me to play football in future after the surgery?
I did ACL surgery 4yrs ago, I did a second one 8 month ago and I've knee roughness. Can I still play football or it can cause to me futur problems?
It depends: The majority of patients with acl tears have other damage to the knee at the time of the injury- either a mensical tear, bone bruise or damage to the cartilage that covers the femur or tibia. One's ability to return to sports must be individualized- how much pathology remains in the knee after acl surgery?, how effective was post-op rehab? - did you achieve full rom, your baseline strength, etc. ...Read more

I had ACL surgery back in march and was playing football and landed wrong and felt I pop in my knee it is swelling and it hurts. Did I retear it?
Possibly: Possibly and I would certainly let your surgeon know. Some times it can be simply the breaking up of some scar tissue adhesions from your surgery, but in the worst case scenario you can retear an acl ligament or a meniscus. A simple exam can go a long way in determining the likely cause. Thank you. ...Read more
