How Long For Scabies Bumps To Go Away
When you use medicine for norwegion scabies how long does it take for bumps and itching to go away? I have done 3 doses of the cream and still red bumps and itchy real bad please help!
Weeks to months: After you treat scabies, the itching and the rash may take a couple of weeks to months before they go away. But as long as you aren't getting new rashes, you should stop treating it with the cream. Topical cortisone creams and anit-itch creams can help with the itch as can oral antihistamines. I recommend nonsedating antihistamines during the day: loratidine, fexofenadine; Benadryl (diphenhydramine) at night. ...Read more
Hey, I had scabies and I used the premetharine cream. I have been slightly itchy & bumps look like bug bites, when will they go away or do I have it?
Scabies: One can be itchy for few weeks even after treatment but important thing here is to monitor for appearance of new lesions . Antihistamines and hydrocortisone can be tried for itch and permethrin treatment can be repeated after 1-2 weeks. Important to treat the whole family at the same time. http://patient.info/health/scabies-leaflet ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
I had the scabies infection an I think there gone but I still have the bumps on my penus an the skin is pealing what should I do and how do I make them go away an I have used permethrin cream an African black soap?
Healing takes time : the itching can continue for weeks after treatment and peeling is normal. Try a calamine lotion and over the counter antihistamines such as Zyrtec or Benadryl (diphenhydramine) for the itching. Also a topical hydrocortisone cream can be helpful for itching. Vaseline can help with peeling. Remember to repeat the treatment in about 2 weeks and treat your family members as well. ...Read more
Several weeks: It is a good idea to repeat treatment 2 weeks after your first treatment to be thorough. A topical steroid can be prescribed once you have treated scabies once to help the bumps go away more quickly. The bumps are a sensitivity reaction to the scabies mite and its feces and eggs. See your dermatologist if you are not getting better. ...Read more

Scabies bumps.: If you are sure that it was scabies, they resolve quickly once the bug has been treated. Moisturize your skin 2-3 times a day with any good moisturizer and you should see improvement in a week. If not improving it may not have been scabies and a topical steroid may be in order depending on the cause. Moisturizers will not hurt no matter the cause. Have a great time in bali! ...Read more
I have bumps that come and go, more so prominent on my forearms and not in the listed usual places for scabies. Its hardly ever itchy ?
Bumps on forearms: There are multiple things this could be, and it's impossible to say without actually seeing them. BUT, it sounds a lot like a condition called keratosis pilaris. It comes and goes, not itchy or painful, present on the arms, etc. Again, it would be helpful to see it. You might want to look it up on Google and see some photos for comparison. I'd be happy to do a video consult if you'd like tonight. ...Read more
Can scabies come &go? Or I'm just getting hives? I see bumps but then completely disappear. What Is it? I'm worried about scabies cuz I had it before
Bumps went away on there own, scabies or something else? Just on my hands. They completely disappeared
Likely not scabies: Scabies rarely go away on their own so probably not scabies. Most common other things would be allergic skin, reaction to something your hands came in contact with or reaction to other irritating substance. Scabies itch a lot and occur mostly between fingers and also usually spread to other parts of the body ...Read more
Hard to say: The bumps appear as a skin reaction to the debris left in the tunnels the scabies leave under your skin. That reaction does not stop at the point of treatment, since it may take a couple of days to show up.It is a little early to worry about treatment failure. Give it another week, and your sites ought to be healing. Re-infection is a possibility if bed linen and clothes have not been cleared. ...Read more
I have treated my family including myself for scabies.I am still itching and I have a seen a new bump.is this normal?
I treated my entire family includimg myself for scabies.iam still itching really bad and have seen a new bump or two.
It happens: The intense itching in scabies is an allergic reaction, not to the bug, but to the feces they deposit in their burrows under the skin. Treatment will kill the mites, but your body will continue to react to any residual bug debris until the body has processed/disposed of it & the reaction settles. It can takes a week or two, but your own drive to scratch can trigger a recurrent itch/scratch cycle. ...Read more

Permethrin 1% vs 5%.: If you are using any over the counter permethrin, the 1% version, you may not be using a product strong enough to deal with this problem. There is also a new approach, one with pills that is very effective as well. Please let your health care provider know that you are having ongoing problems. ...Read more
Do scabie bumps come and go?
Like you scratch... Bumps show up... Go away in a while.... Then show up again... Whenever it decides to again???
Looks like pimples
PROBABLY NOT SCABIES: In fact, scabies tends to get worse and worse, you may see pictures on the internet, rash may look like short red tunnels especially between fingers, can occur anyplace. I can't tell what you have from your description, but you can safely try something like OTC hydrocortisone in an area - see if it clears. For answers you will probably have to show this to a doctor while it is there-stay well ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
