How Long For Eye To Heal After Cataract Surgery
Cataract surgery: After cataract surgery patients recover very quickly, with good vision in one to 7 days and eye drops for about a month. You can return to normal activities the day after surgery. Restrictions are minimal, just avoiding rubbing and no swimming for a few weeks. There is scarring that holds the new lens implant in place and normal healing of the wound. ...Read moreSee 4 more doctor answers
Usually a week or so: Depending on how the surgery is done, and how bad the chalazion, it usually takes a week or so to heal. I usually drain chalazia from the inside surface of the lid after injecting local anesthetic. After the material is drained, there is residual inflammation of the lid that can take a week or so to resolve. I usually use ice and an anti-inflammatory ointment post op to speed the process. ...Read moreSee 2 more doctor answers
Short term: Almost all cataract surgery is done under local; the eye protection is to cover the eye during the period when the anesthetic is still in effect to prevent accidentally poking the eye. It is not used to promote healing. By the next day after surgery, the cover will have been removed and with ordinary caution, the eye will heal nicely. ...Read more
Depends: This depends on the level of refractive error which was treated. Your uncorrected vision will likely be better than prior to surgery within 2-3 days (after the cornea has healed and the contact lens is removed) unless you had only a mild prescription before. The vision will then continue to clear over the next few weeks as corneal inflammation subsides with steroid use. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
Up to 2 months: Many factors can contribute to drooping of the eyelid after cataract surgery. In most cases the droop resolves gradually but in about 1/3 of cases it can resist partially or totally after 2 months. Lens exchange: If you already had an artificial lens implant placed and this is being exchanged then recovery should be very quick, few days. If your natural lens is removed and an implant placed then recovery is several days to a couple weeks. This is of course assuming that your eye is otherwise healthy. Good luck. ...Read more
For how long does it take your vision to return to normal after eye surgery for a hemorage behind eye?
No more than a week: If you are referring to cosmetic lid surgery or blepharoplasty, healing is very rapid: the skin is very thin and the blood supply is excellent. Many people can return to work the next day, but the vast majority are healed and back to normal by about one week. ...Read moreSee 2 more doctor answers
Depends, often 1 wk: Presuming that cataract surgery is uncomplicated, i ask my patients to avoid submerging the eye in water (no pools, hot tubs, etc.) and to avoid strenuous activity for one week and avoid eye rubbing for 2-3 weeks. Many patients have fairly good vision within the first few days after cataract surgery, although blur can persist for weeks if there is significant corneal swelling or other issues. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
Depends: The eye usually starts to look and feel better after a couple of weeks. Visual recovery depends on the severity of the underlying retinal disease and what techniques were used during surgery. For example, if gas or oil where used, your recovery might be weeks or months. Hope this helps. Good luck. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
Healing after CS: Healing after cataract surgery is usually very quick: depending on pre-operative risk factors (diabetes, h/o trauma, flomax (tamsulosin) use, general health), intra-operative issues (any vitreous loss), and post-operative issues: any wound leaking, infection, etc. Complications are rare: vision improves usually ...Read moreSee 3 more doctor answers
