How Long Does Wheezing Associated With Influenza Last
Ok so a month ago I had influenza and bronchitis, 4 weeks later I got it again and got antibiotics but still wheezing should I go back?
Let's go back: So initially you had what was deemed viral infection and bronchitis, then got bronchitis treated with antibiotics. Now you have wheezing. This is likely from airway inflammation and increased goblet cells and secretion and now wheezing. Go back to your doctor and you should be treated for this inflammation and wheezing and help with expectoration.

4 year old had just a cough for the past week. Yesterday started to run a fever about 102.8 and cough harder & wheezing. History of RSV when 18 mos. Mom had influenza & bronchitis two weeks ago?
Influenza since last Tuesday. Finished tamiflu (oseltamivir) yesterday. Fever and yucky feeling returning. Why? How long will I have a fever?
New flu bug: Or old bug gone, but the secondary consequences still hanging around. Keep resting and drink fluids.
5-7 days: Is the usual but possible up to 10 days. If he/she gets worse during this time have them re examined often they can develop a secondary infection such as an ear infection that requires additional treatment. All the best.
How long does fever technically last if u have influenza a. My son is 11 and has had fever since mon am. Fever was gone all day then up tonight.
Watch it tonight: A return of significant fever (>101-102) after a day or so without may be a sign a secondary infection like pneumonia is setting in. If the fever persists tonight, call the office in the morning and seek direction on what more to do. An evaluation and further study may be in order.
Influenza: The infection from the flu can last longer than most other viral infections but it is different in every individual. Hopefully your doctor gave your baby tamiflu (oseltamivir) to help treat the illness and thereby shorten the duration. It still takes close monitoring of young patients for any complications.
Depends: Wheezing is a common symptoms of asthma (aka reactive airway disease). It is caused by the bronchial tubes being constricted and/or inflamed causing airway narrowing. It can last as long as there is any airway constriction. Wheezing is a serious respiratory symptoms and needs to be addressed urgently. Be sure to see your doctor or go to the emergency department for treatment.

No: The world health organization website (www. Who. Org) is the best place to find information about pandemics. According to this, the h1n1 influenza pandemic is now in the post-pandemic period, but some outburst can be expected. Another place to find information about diseases epidemics and pandemic is the cdc website (wwwcdc. Gov). Please, check it before making any trip abroad.

My 6 month was sick w/ influenza. Almost one week, now he has runny nose n drycough. What can I do to ease his comfort.? And how long it takes?
May require MD exam-: Due his young age & the known increased rate of flu complications at this age, the safest answer should include a visit with your pediatrician. Pneumonia, ear infections, bronchiolitis, etc. May be masquerading behind the cough & runny nose symptoms that you describe. Hopefully, none of these coexist wih your baby's flu. But, worrisome is the fact that september is a bit early for flu to appear.
I had an influenza- like illness last week (tested negative). Now I have petechia on both legs from my ankles to hips, I otherwise feel good now.?
See doctor: Petechia can be a sign of inflammation of the blood vessels, called vasculitis. Even though you feel better, I suggest you have your doctor take a look, and probably do some simple blood tests to look for signs of inflammation and check your platelet count (platelets help in blood clotting). Call today. May be nothing, but it's best to get checked.
I hav talking induced dry cough that last for several weeks after exposure to cold air, air condition& after influenza infection. Any help about reasons?
Reactive airways: Hello Tarek, Sometimes after a severe respiratory infection, the cough can linger for a few months. The airways can become inflamed and spasm. Certain triggers can cause this to occur including excessive talking, laughing and cold air. If it persists beyond a couple of months, you should see your local doctor to ensure that there is not another reason for the cough. Pamela Svendsen, MD
