I took wellbutrin (bupropion) for 7yrs. Been off for 4mnths. Can I take it on days that I feel overly anxious? Will it work, or does it have to be in system longer?
I took wellbutrin for 2days 1xa day 150mg its making worse how long till out of system and can try something else want to try inderal.
If you were only taking wellbutrin for 2 days just to be safe I'd wait 3-5 days before starting inderal under your PCP direction naturally, but usually 2 days of a med like wellbutrin would have minimal adverse effects if any stopping it abruptly as you have done.
having said that any med changes should be closely monitored by you primary care provider. ...Read more

I just started on 100mg of wellbutrin (bupropion) for 5 days then up to 300mg. How long before I feel the effects?
How long does it take to feel the effects of Wellbutrin (bupropion)? I've been on it for 5 weeks and still feeling down.

If you have had absolutely no improvement in your depression, you may be on too low of a dose, or this may just be a medication that doesn't work for you.
Also make sure you have the right diagnosis.
Do NOT discontinue this without consulting your psychiatrist, but I would bring this up with him/her. ...Read more

Officially, none: No warnings about long-term use of wellbutrin (bupropion) have been issued. But, you have to realize that its makeup is similar to amphetamine, and is dopamine-enhancing. It can cause jitteriness, twitching, and seizures even in short-term. It can be difficult to wean from, because of irritability and anger -- not unlike nicotine withdrawal for which it is used (as zyban). Ongoing need should be reviewed. ...Read more

These would include anxiety and flu-like aches and pains. Work closely with your md. ...Read more

What do you suggest if my doctor just upped my dosage of wellbutrin (bupropion) from 450mgs per day to 600mgs per day. How long will it take before I notice a change in my mood?
Not sure: That's a high dose for that medication. Tough to say when you might notice improvement but if you are having side effects then maybe switch to a different medication. I think its unlikely that going from 450 to 600 will make a huge difference. I think I would have augmented instead of increasing. Do you have insomnia? ...Read more
