How Long Does Wellbutrin Stay In Your System
I've been off of my wellbutrin (bupropion) for 2 weeks now. Got refill, is it still in my system and how long until I feel better again? (450 mgs)
2-3 days to 8wks: Although most symptoms subside within a few days, some may continue for 8 weeks or more and require medical attention. Early intervention greatly improves treatment and control of symptoms due to withdrawal. With proper medical advice, discontinuing wellbutrin (bupropion) is safe. Most people experience mild symptoms that last for a few days while the body readjusts. Expert insight.See 1 more doctor answer
I took wellbutrin (bupropion) for 7yrs. Been off for 4mnths. Can I take it on days that I feel overly anxious? Will it work, or does it have to be in system longer?
I took wellbutrin for 2days 1xa day 150mg its making worse how long till out of system and can try something else want to try inderal.
3-5 days: If you were only taking wellbutrin for 2 days just to be safe I'd wait 3-5 days before starting inderal under your PCP direction naturally, but usually 2 days of a med like wellbutrin would have minimal adverse effects if any stopping it abruptly as you have done. Having said that any med changes should be closely monitored by you primary care provider.
I had to stop wellbutrin (bupropion) due to some side effects I did not like, how long till the pill is out of my system and the side effects will be gone?
What are side effect: Drug metabolized out within 7-8 days after ingestion. Time to lose all side effects? Impossible to predict.
I'm on viibryd (vilazodone hydrochloride), (vilazodone hydrochloride) nortriptyline and started wellbutrin 2 weeks ago, how long does it take for viibryd (vilazodone hydrochloride) to leave the system as I'm trying to wean off?
I'm taking lexapro Wellbutrin (bupropion) and alprazolam. Is it safe to take a vyvanse with these medications in my system?
Caution: You already have significant drug interactions with the 3 meds listed. Adding Vyvanse plus Wellbutrin (bupropion) increases risk for seizures. Vyvanse plus Lexapro increases side effects of Vyvanse and risk for serotonin syndrome. Review these meds with prescribing doctor. You need close medical supervision to take these medications. I hope this helps.
Are you asking: How long you need to take for a specific condition or are you asking how to taper off it. What is the condition being treated? Please clarify and re-ask. Thank you.

Depends: It should be fully in your system in 72 hours. However, it may take several weeks to have an impact on your depression. If you have questions, contact your physician.
Variable: Though I have seen some people start feeling better within a few days, 2-3 weeks is a more reasonable expectation. It can take 4-6 weeks to see the full benefit.
It depends: While Wellbutrin (bupropion) is considered a weight neutral antidepressant, losing one's appetite is not necessarily expected. However, you will be less likely to gain weight from it. If your depression has led to a weight gain due to emotional eating, you may find that the urge to eat like that will decrease as the medicine reduces your depression.
I just started on 100mg of wellbutrin (bupropion) for 5 days then up to 300mg. How long before I feel the effects?
Depends...: Most antidepressants take about 2 weeks or so before you notice the therapeutic effects. However you can experience side effects after the 1st dose.
How long does it take to feel the effects of Wellbutrin (bupropion)? I've been on it for 5 weeks and still feeling down.
4-6 Weeks: Bupropion is an antidepressant that works primarily by increasing dopamine. If you have had absolutely no improvement in your depression, you may be on too low of a dose, or this may just be a medication that doesn't work for you. Also make sure you have the right diagnosis. Do NOT discontinue this without consulting your psychiatrist, but I would bring this up with him/her.
If I'm taking wellbutrin (bupropion) 100 mg a day how long will it take me to feel better and like myself? I've taken it before but it was XR kind.
Wellbutrin (bupropion): Wellbutrin (bupropion) takes 4-6 weeks for effectiveness, but you may get some response before that. Your doctor may also need to gradually adjust your dosage. It may help you feel better -- learning to like yourself is an additional process best helped through psychotherapy. The medication can clear depressive feelings so that working through personal issues does not feel so overwhelming.
Been on Wellbutrin (bupropion) xl 150 mg for 4 weeks and 3 days I was on the generic the first 3 weeks changed to the name brand, how long will it take for relief?
Talk w ur doc: You could be feeling some relief now. Talk with your doctor. He or she may want to increase thedosage
Officially, none: No warnings about long-term use of wellbutrin (bupropion) have been issued. But, you have to realize that its makeup is similar to amphetamine, and is dopamine-enhancing. It can cause jitteriness, twitching, and seizures even in short-term. It can be difficult to wean from, because of irritability and anger -- not unlike nicotine withdrawal for which it is used (as zyban). Ongoing need should be reviewed.See 1 more doctor answer
Wellbutrin, (bupropion) Alcohol: Commend yourself if you did not use Alcohol while taking Wellbutrin (bupropion) for Depression. Did you discuss with your Psychiatrist for gradual withdrawal of Wellbutrin (bupropion), possibly 6 weeks to avoid withdrawal symptoms. It gets out of system in about 7 days. I'm changing my medication from Effexor (venlafaxine) 300mgs to wellbutrin 150mgs. How long before I notice a change in my mood?
Many Variables: When switching from one antidepressant to another it is difficult to predict how quickly the new medication will take effect. Generally one expects an antidepressant to begin to work after two weeks with the maximum benefit at six weeks. One should taper slowly off Effexor (venlafaxine) due to discontinuation symptoms. These would include anxiety and flu-like aches and pains. Work closely with your md.
