We have been treated for scabies. Will Lysol kill the mites on hard surfaces? Also, once treated, how long do we need to change our bed linens daily?
Lysol not effective: Scabies is a tough condition to treat since it infects close contacts with varying symptoms and tends to recur from decontamination of untreated people or fomites (infected house hold items). For this reason, simultaneous treatment of all potentially infected personnel is recommended, along with laundering of linen, clothing and towels etc in hot water cycle with each treatment cycle. ...Read more
Can a rash from scabies spread after permethrin treatment of the mites are killed? Just did treatment last night, rash on cheek now, not itchy
Probably not but: Even if the mites are killed, they have left some droppings behind in the skin areas where they had visited. The allergic reaction to the droppings may linger on for a couple of more weeks. However it is uncommon to involve the face and thus the problem may not be scabies. ...Read more

What kind of scabies mites live on pets? And what kind lives on human? Can a pet be infested with the human mites?
Mite Type: Dogs can develop canine scabies caused by sarcoptes scabiei canis. People can be infected by sarcoptes scabiei hominis. Does saltwater kill scabies mites, when they aren't in the skin? For example if they are in a wetsuit?
Mites do not "like" salt water and in fact salt water baths are used to treat scabies!!!! I would, however, note that wet suits should be CLEANED with antibacterial, antiseptic, agents if they are going to be "shared"...If you use a wet suit regularly you should own your own!! My opinion only!

Vacuum; wash clothes: To feel safe after the family had scabies or head lice, one can vacuum everywhere, and wash the washables (sheets, clothes) and dry them with the hot setting if the fabric allows it. Live mainly in one "safe room" that's super clean, and wait 10 days before living in the rest of the home. If extremely worried, repeat the vacuuming and washing once more, before living in the rest of the home. ...Read more

If I get treatment for scabies and not around my house for a few days will the rest of the scabie mites die plz help?
I have a question about scabies. Regardless of the effect to me/my skin and what I "should" do, will hot/boiling water kill the mites at all?
Easier way than that:
You may not have scabies. It would be prudent to see a doctor for a proper diagnosis. There are topical as well oral medications that are far safer than trying to scald yourself with boiling water.
For good health - Have a diet rich in fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, low fat milk and milk products, nuts, beans, legumes, lentils and small amounts of lean meats. Avoid saturated fats. Exercise at least 150 minutes/week and increase the intensity of exercise gradually. Do not use tobacco, alcohol, weed or street drugs in any form.
Practice safe sex. ...Read more
Can I spread scabies even in areas that they have not spreaded I've been having sex for the past week now but some of my areas have not been touched with these mites ans I was wondering if I kan still spread them to him
Scabies is extremely contagious. What you're seeing as a rash is actually your body's reaction to the mites burrowing under your skin, not the mites themselves. So there is really no telling where the little guys are.
You must see a dermatologist and get a cream that, for the most part, will kill all the mites in one treatment (usually), but you must also have anyone you live with or are in close contact with (i.e., your sex partner) and they must be treated as well. You should also wash your bedsheets and clothes in hot water and dry them in a drier.
You should know that scabies is not anything you get because you're unclean. It's not a hygiene problem, and it knows no class. Rich, poor, democrats and even republicans get scabies. But you'll never get rid of them without seeing a dermatologist. And getting rid of them is very fast & "mity" easy.

Hello. If you have scabies it can require a fair effort to get rid of it. First, you and all the members of your household will need to be treated. Ivermectin is an effective medication for treating scabies (either oral or topical). Second, you will have to clean (ie. Hot water in machine the clothes, bedding and towels you have come in contact with). There may be some things like pillows that can’t go in the wash. You can put them in a big plastic bag and tie it up. Keep it in there for 48 hours because scabies can survive without being on a human for 24 to 36 hours.
Also clean all the hard surfaces you have been in contact with (like furniture). Here is the bad news, if the old lady that you help continues to have untreated scabies; you are likely to keep getting infected from her or things of hers that you are in contact with. Good luck and thankyou for your kindness to others. ...Read more
