I've been on the implanon nxt contraceptive for over a year now. my period lasts for almost 2weeks, even longer sometimes. should I be worried?
Implanon: Menstrual irregularities are a common side effect of Implanon & other implanted birth control methods. Check out http://www.drugs.com/sfx/implanon-side-effects.html for more info. Chat w/your Family Doc or GYN (whoever implanted Implanon). I'd be more worried if you reported feeling lightheaded, weak, woozy, etc from anemia due to prolonged periods. The Norplant is 6 capsules inserted beneath the skin & good for 5 years. Implanon is one capsule good for 3 years.
