How long does the discharge last after getting a cervix cryotherapy?

How long does the discharge last after getting a cervix cryotherapy?

What did the doc: Who did the procedure tell you, that is a basic followup instruction that your doc should have told you before or right after doing the procedure, normal time is 3- 10 days at the most and there should be no odor, very surprised your doc did not tell you that to you as that a basic post procedure instruction.

Different protocols: Not everyone has a watery discharge. We warn people about it because it can otherwise be a bit of shock. There are different protocols for freezing the cervix. In my practice, I either use a single freeze that lasts 5 minutes or freeze for 3 minutes, allow it to thaw and then freeze again for 3 minutes. Best wishes!

I had cervical cryosurgery 4 weeks ago I'm still expierencing light brownish discharge, is this normal?

Brown: Color is usually indicative of OLD blood...so if it's not bright red and very light it may in fact still be completely normal post cryosurgery...a simple phone call to your GYN may relieve your mind...why not?? Hope this helps! Dr Z

Is watery discharge normal along with cryosurgery of the cervix?

YOUR doc should: Have told u everything to expect afterward like I always do with my pts! That is the most common thing afterward, is watery discharge from 2- 10 days that is caused by the dead cells sluffing off after they have been frozen, if the discharge starts to smell or you start to get uterine pain or cramps afterward, you need to call your gyn as rarely u could get an infection afterward.

No and Yess: Typically cryosurgery is not painful, but causes cramping which may persist for a few hours. The discharge is normal due to necrosis of the frozen tissue.

How do I know if I have an infection after having cryosurgery of the cervix? I'm still getting some discharge.

How do I know if I have an infection after having cryosurgery of the cervix? I'm still getting some discharge.

No short ans.: After a cryo procedure you can have watery brown discharge for 4-6 weeks! After 3 weeks it should be less each week. If you have foul odor, then you may have a bacterial infection. Hopefully you were asked about risk for std before the procedure. It is not mandatory to test for std especially if you are over 26 and in a monogamous relationship, but if worried, call your doc.
