35 weeks 4 days pregnant. Frequent bowel movements since yesterday. 3X loose a day. Is it normal? Why does it occur and how long will it occur?

Normal with preg: This is quite normal especially as your child grows. Diarrhea is common during pregnancy due to the shifting hormone levels and your child pressing down on the intestine. The diarrhea will likely be episodic in nature and the frequency might increase as you approach your delivery date. ...Read more

After two months sober post acute withdrawl still seems to be getting worse. When does this peak and how long until i can live a normal life? Alcohol

See your doctor: post-acute withdrawal symptoms can last for several months, but should be getting better rather than worse. Your doctor can refer you to a psychiatrist to discuss. Also need regular exercise, good nutrition. ...Read more

How long can spotting last during perimenopause and is it normal? I have had 3 colposcapies in the last 10 years and they have all been normal.

Spotting @ 55: Perimenopause can cause lightened or absent periods with spotting. However, endometrial cancer also presents in the same way. Colposcopies are not the prime way to assess the endometrium as it looks at the endocervical canal and cervix itself and not the endometrium. An endometrial biopsy will tell you and your MD much more about why you are spotting if this is worrisome. ...Read more

I have been very stressed the past two weeks. How much does stress affect a period? Will it delay it by too much?

Likely not: You are right that stress can affect our periods. I've definitely had patients where that's seemed like the case, but it is very rare. The body is a powerful thing, and most women, despite enormous stress, will still ovulate and have a period. Extremes of weight (too thin, too heavy) are more likely causes for irregular period. As well as thyroid or pituitary problems. Check with your doctor! ...Read more
