How Long Does Scabies Last After Treatment
For how long can human scabies live on (be alive) a cat's or dog's body without any treatment? Do they need treatment?

However, and this is the gross part, the major reaction is to the scabies droppings left behind. This material is very irritating and causes the characteristic itching one experiences. This particular symptom can take weeks to "cool down" and may require topical or even oral steroids. ...Read more

How long until I can get in the bed with my girlfriend after my first treatment of permethrin for scabies?
Wrong question: It is very important that BOTH of you be treated for scabies at the same time, even if she has no symptoms. Every other contact and every other person in your home must be treated, even if assymptomatic. From the time of initial infestation to the beginning of itch is typically 2 to 3 months. Your girlfriend probably already has it. You can both use permethrin and you can share a bed the same nigh ...Read more

Dry-clean items you can't wash at home. Consider placing items you can't wash in a sealed plastic bag and leaving it in your garage, for a couple of weeks, this will starve the mites. Oral ivermectin?: There's no obvious reason the treatment (probably permethrin or lindane) cannot be used on the scalp, but it should be kept out of the eyes and mouth. Alternatively, if necessary, scabies can be treated with ivermectin, an oral treatment effective in a single dose. Discuss both options with your doctor. ...Read more
Can a rash from scabies spread after permethrin treatment of the mites are killed? Just did treatment last night, rash on cheek now, not itchy
Probably not but: Even if the mites are killed, they have left some droppings behind in the skin areas where they had visited. The allergic reaction to the droppings may linger on for a couple of more weeks. However it is uncommon to involve the face and thus the problem may not be scabies. ...Read more
