How Long Does Root Canal Treatment Take
How long after root canal treatment before permanent seal is put in, and is it normal if it is still hurting?
Permanent Seal?: By permanent seal, do you mean permanent build up? Permanent crown? Or permanent rc filling. If there is still pain, the root canal treatment should not be completed, and if it is completed, my opinion is that the root canal filling should be removed and either extra/accessory nerve canals looked for and cleaned, or if all has been found, the canals should be medicated till pain is gone. ...Read moreSee 2 more doctor answers

30 minutes ago I had a root canal treatment for my upper teeth and now am experiencing a headache…Do I need to take some medicine?
Sure: Multimodal therapy is very effective for acute pain. Advil 800 mg every 8 hours for a few days can be taken independent of vicodin dosing. As the pain improves consider replacing the vicodin with plain tylenol (acetaminophen) 625 mg every 6 hours. Try to avoid taking tylenol (acetaminophen) and vicodin at the same time as vicodin also contains tylenol (acetaminophen). Max daily tylenol (acetaminophen) should not exceed 4 grams. ...Read moreSee 2 more doctor answers
