Trtd scabies w/5% perm crm 4x in last 5 wks. Rash imp after the last treat, but new bumps now appearing. Derm appt in 8 days. Reinf or post scabies?

Both possible: It's possible to get reinfected with scabies if you did not get rid of the source. Wash everything (clothes, towels, linens) and wrap in plastic unwashables for 5 days to kill the mites/eggs. Probably not: The diagnosis of scabies is made by identifying organisms or their products in the skin by scrapping or biopsy. If there are not lesions to see, it cannot be diagnosed and most likely is not scabies. You should have your skin examined by your dermatologist. ...Read more

Still scabies: If you were treated forvscabies. The medicine can clear the infection but the inflammation will require several days for the skin to return to normal. During this phase a prescription topical steroid is useful. Also check for any other possible sources such as pets. ...Read more
