How Long Does Loratadine Stay In Your System
What are the differences between loratadine and desloratidine in how well it works or how long it lasts?
Prob ok: Antihistamines have been around for decades, and certainly many more potent than loratadine. They say worldwide the most common drug taken is diphenhydramine, mostly for the sedative properties (as a sleep aid). Took 50mg loratadine/day for hives. Stopped because of suicidal thoughts (read this is a rare symtom) now i'm in a 4-day-long anxiety attack.Thoughts?
Different medication: 50 mg of Loratadine is far and above the recommended dose. Suicidal thoughts are a rare side effect but on a dose that high, you may also experience sedation. There are many other medications that can be used to treat hives and some of them (like hydroxyzine, doxepin, or amitryptiline) can have some affect on anxiety too. Those tend to be sedating however. Please talk to your doctor about this. ...Read more

Dymista is a combination of fluticasone and azelastine and works quickly. None of these products should adversely affect asthma or your current medications. ...Read more

This is why most allergists have patients stop their Claritin a number of days before skin testing them. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
3-5 days: The average half-life of Claritin is 8 hours meaning that half the dose is gone/metabolized after 8 hours and after 8 more hours another half is gone. Doing the math, the Claritin is effectively out of a person's system in 3-5 days, except in geriatric patients it could possibly take up to 10 days. ...Read more
