How Long Does Laser Hair Removal Usually Last
Permanent : Laser hair removal if done properly can be permanent since the procedure actually causes death of the hair follicle. Hair removal is either temporary, like tweezing, waxing or shaving, or permanent, in which the follicles are destroyed by electrolysis or a laser/light system. Very popular these days to reduce the density of hair in an area by laser hair removal. It needs to be repeated in a series to affect as many follicles as ...Read more
Is it normal for the skin to develop crusts and scabs after laser hair removal? How long to heal ?
Not usually: Depending on the type of laser or BBL used for hair removal and your skin pigmentation it is possible to get small burns. Rest of your life!: Honest, ultraviolet causes wrinkles, sunspots, premature loss of skin tone and elasticity, not to mention skin cancers, some of them fatal. The things that actually do this and hold up either mutate genes (which lasering a follicle won't do) or result in prolonged hyperproliferation of cells (same). Don't worry about this. Laser hair removal is a huge help for many people. Best wishes. ...Read more

Actually, no.: Since laser hair removal uses non-ionizing energy, there is no cancer-inducing radiation, and the actual laser light penetrates no more than a couple of millimeters at hair removal wavelengths. Multiple sessions are necessary since hair follicles are susceptible only in specific growth phases. Hair and a few sebaceous glands are gone, but no problem unless too much energy=burn or blister. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
Could laser hair removal cause a long-term burning sensation on my shins? I don't have a rash, and it is worse when touched. Thanks!
Tough one: There is some post laser discomfort but it should not last for weeks on end. Did you have initial complications like burns or blisters? I worry about a nerve injury developing a complex pain syndrome in the shins. I would see a neurologist if this is going on for over 2 weeks possible a pain management specialist.
