Is it any MORE dangerous to take 0.5mg Klonopin (clonazepam) following a week long bout of insomnia due to risk of dying in sleep since body is already so tired?

Is it any MORE dangerous to take 0.5mg Klonopin (clonazepam) following a week long bout of insomnia due to risk of dying in sleep since body is already so tired?

Get sleep evaluation: I think you may be mixing up DEATH as an indirect consequence of insomnia (car crash, falling down steps, etc.) vs. DEATH as a direct consequence of being awake 250 hrs. without sleep (impossible...but as an example). The former is TOO COMMON...the latter extremely UNCOMMON. If used as directed Klonopin (clonazepam) should be fine but it's not a sleep med. Better to get proper sleep eval and treat ROOT CAUSE. ...Read more

How long will 1mg of klonopin (clonazepam) stay in my system?

How long will 1mg of klonopin (clonazepam) stay in my system?

About a day: Klonopin's clinical effects last about twelve hours, so it most likely is gone after about thirty six hours from your blood stream. If you are inquiring about this for drug tests, keep in mind that this is general information from my practice, and may not be correct for you or your situation. ...Read more

How long should it take to get 1mg klonopin (clonazepam) out of your system?

How long should it take to get 1mg klonopin (clonazepam) out of your system?

A few days: Klonopin (clonazepam) has a half life of 30-40 hours, so your body will eliminate half of the drug in about 2 days. It can take 5-7 half lives for a drug to be completely our of your system. The drug might still be detectable in your urine for up to 5 days. http://www.rxlist.com/klonopin-drug/clinical-pharmacology.htm http://www.mayomedicallaboratories.com/test-info/drug-book/benzodiazepines.html ...Read more

How long does 12mg of klonopin (clonazepam) stay in your system I have a drugtest in a week?

How long does 12mg of klonopin (clonazepam) stay in your system I have a drugtest in a week?

12 mg???: The more pressing concern is withdrawal (can even be fatal) if you've used this much Klonopin (clonazepam) in a day. The half life of it is less than 24 hrs and it should not be detectable a week later. But again, i'm more concerned that you use so much of an addictive drug. Benzos are dangerous in the long term and are designed to provide short term relief only. Please see a doctor about this asap. ...Read more

Curious I took 2 0.5 mg klonopins I'm 175 with high metabolism how long you figure it will stay in my urine?

Curious I took 2 0.5 mg klonopins I'm 175 with high metabolism how long you figure it will stay in my urine?

Long half-life!: This stays in system longer than many drugs - up to a 50 hr half-life! So, if the test is a very powerful one it can detect it for a week - maybe more. Never use medication w/out a Rx. Then you'll be covered legally - otherwise you are gambling w/ your quality of life in foolish ways. I hope you do ok and learn an adult attitude of responsibility for the future. ...Read more

After being on a small dose of .5 mil klonopin (clonazepam) for 3 years how long would it take to withdraw from it completely?

A week or two: 0.5 mg is a pretty low dose, so it shouldn't be hard to stop. I would suggest taking 0.25 daily for a week or so, and then stop completely. While some patients have to taper it more gradually than that, in my experience this has worked fine for most patients. Of course, you should do this in collaboration with your prescribing doctor. ...Read more

How long would 6mg of Klonopin (clonazepam) take to get out of your system? Is there anything you can do to elevate it faster?

How long would 6mg of Klonopin (clonazepam) take to get out of your system? Is there anything you can do to elevate it faster?

About 4-7 days: Klonopin (clonazepam) is a long acting benzodiazepine. It gets metabolized by the liver. It's clearance from the body depends on the condition of your liver and the presence of competing substances. Also, detection of klonopin (clonazepam) in the urine is also based on the sensitivity and specificity of the test. Some tests for benzodiazepines do not show klonopin (clonazepam). There is really nothing you can do to "flush it" out. ...Read more
