Non-itchy rash: Many possibilities: might be sensitivity to bath soap, laundry detergent, fabric softener, dyes/ chemicals in new (unwashed) shirt, cologne or body spray; if u sweat a lot, might be prickly heat; might be viral infection like measles/ rubella. Get checked: Though one can bruise yourself from scratching, normally the itch comes first. Rarely but possible I have seen severe hives resolve leaving a bruise, thought due to an autoimmune phenomenom. Perhaps it's not quite a bruise. Early shingles? UP? DH? Itchy rash: Rashes are notoriously difficult to solve without seeing them. Hives are like raised patches and can be described as water-filled. Several treatment modalities would help you in that case. Contact allergy may be more likely and an Allergist can help identify triggers and treat that as well.
