Depends: What you have is a skin rash which may sometimes be loosely called eczema by some. The potential causes range from a contact allergy, fungal infection to psoriasis. If topical hydrocortisone does not help, you would need to consult your doctor or a dermatologist. ...Read more

I have a non itchy rash under both of my arms, just right above my armpit. I used eczema cream, doesn't work. I tried everything, what can it be?

Lots of things: Rashes are nearly impossible to diagnose correctly without seeing them, especially with so little information. Is it light or dark? Raised, flat, or depressed? Fine bumps? Big welts? Does it blanch when you push on it or no? Are you sick or well? What other symptoms do you have? If it bothers you, and to get it properly diagnosed, see your doctor. ...Read more

Contact/irritant: If you have dry skin, you will need to use a thick moisturizer after washing your hands whenever possible. Wear vinyl glove when washing dishes or anything else. Avoid scented soap of any kind. After washing hands before going to bed, apply some moisturizer on the hands and wear non-latex gloves overnight. Consider getting patch testing to find out whether contact allergen plays a role. ...Read more

Can eczema turn into psoriasis? I have a patch of itchy skin on my shin diagnosed as eczema. My GP prescribed Verdeso 0.05% rash came back red & bumpy

No: In fact atopic eczema and psoriasis are nearly 180 degree opposite to each other in term of the immune reactions. Cortisone is a non-specific anti-inflammatory agent which however may help both conditions although better and safer alternatives may be required. The itchy rash on your chin is likely from a contact allergy with hair preparations being the most likely suspects. ...Read more

Pediatrician: How about starting with your child's pediatrician? He or she is likely to be very experienced in treating eczema in children as this is a very common skin problem. If your pediatrician feels it is medically necessary, he/she may subsequently refer you to a dermatologist if necessary. ...Read more

I have this red, lumpy, flakey and itchy rash on my chin for nearly 3wks. Pretty sure it is ezcema, I am using DermAid cream on it and it's not workin?

Irritant?: If you live in an arid area, it may be from dry skin. This causes itching and your constant rubbing and peeling of the scales (I just presume) just perpetuate it. Try some Hydrocortisone cream on it for a few days then apply moisturizer on area after washing your face regularly thereafter. Let me know if this works for you If you were a man, I would have guess allergic reaction to aftershave. ...Read more
