Why do doctors insist that women go back to work in six weeks after a hysterectomy when it takes for longer than that to recover from this?
Why does it take so long to recover from a complete hysterectomy? I go out and do errands then crash cause i get tired and wore out can u tell me why

Depends on type: With an abdominal hysterectomy the time off work and restrictions of no heavy lifting and only walking is 6 weeks. Vaginal hysterectomy is the same though women feel better faster. With hysterectomy done laparoscopically the recovery and time off work is more like 3 weeks. If you are in reasonable health you should do fine.
