About Six Weeks: Hematomas are quite common after surgery.It is just collection of blood which gets clotted after the surgery and with time liquefies and gets absorped in the blood stream.

Ill-advised: I don't recommend taking a stimulant laxative so soon after surgery, even if it was done laparascopically. Artificially induced peristalsis can be quite painful, occasionally dangerous, post op if the bowel isn't ready to resume working normally.
