What STD's can be detected by a pap smear? How long does it take for results? Does Pap smear show yeast bacterial vaginosis as well? Hiv? UTI?
PAP smear is not designed to test for STDs. However, it may reveal, herpes, HPV, trichhomonas, yeast and bacterial vaginosis. PAP results may a take a couple of weeks. Not finding these in a PAP smear does not exclude these infections. PAP does not reveal HIV. If you have a concern, you should see a doctor and get specific tests for the particular infection in question.
