How long does it take for scabies to go away after permethrin cream?

How long does it take for scabies to go away after permethrin cream?

Usually premethrin is applied twice, about a week between applications. It has to be done right, clothes and bedding washed, contacts treated too. ...Read more

See a doctor: Scabies can be persistent and can spread. Here is a place to go for good information: http://www.Cdc.Gov/parasites/scabies/gen_info/faq_workplace.Html since you work in a job where you could spread that to other people the right thing to do is to be cleared by a doctor before you work. ...Read more

How often should you use permethrin 5% cream for scabies?

How often should you use permethrin 5% cream for scabies?

Usually once: Scabies is caused by a mite that burrows into the skin and lays eggs. The eggs take a few days to hatch. You should not use more than 2 applications. ...Read more

Applied permethrin cream 5% for scabies last night, to every inch of my body. On for 12 hrs. I still woke up with new bites. When will new bites stop?

It can take 3 weeks: Scabies symptoms aren't from "bites", but from the body's allergic reaction to scabies mites and their products (eggs, droppings, etc). Permethrin kills mites immediately, but it takes time for the immune system to clear the dead mites and the junk they left behind. Red bumps and itching can continue up to 3 weeks, and may even get worse for a while. Hang in there, it will clear up with time. ...Read more
