How long does it take for broken hand bones to heal?

Broken hand bones: For simple uncomplicated fractures in fingers or the metacarpals (long bones) take 6-8 weeks to heal, however some wrist bones such as the scaphoid and others may take longer as the blood supply in these is not as straightforward. Open fractures and higher energy injuries may take longer. The quality of the soft tisse and nerve supply and circulation in an injury zone may lengthen healing times.

Can you get bone spurs with a broken hand?

Can you get bone spurs with a broken hand?

Yes in jointfracture: Bone spurs usually arise in responses to wear and tear over time and is a hallmark of arthritis. Patients with fractures involving the articular surfaces are more prone to develop arthritis at an earlier age in those joints than in a non-injured joint. Bone spurs can also develop at tendon and ligament insertions into bones. See a hand surgeon.

Perhaps you are: Referring to a joint that is subluxing and slding in and out of place. A commin scenario could involve the cmc joints where the metacarpals meet the wrist but it is very hard to honein on a problem with nonspecific inforamtion. Perhaps an evaluation by a hand surgeon for a problem such as this is indicated as surgery and injury is part of the past history.

Hello! I have a broken hand, the two bones between my hand and elbow are both broken, I have wrapped it but somei feel like the bones are moving.?

Fractures: This is a dangerous situation. You need to get to a doctor to take an X Ray and put the bones back together and put a cast on your arm. It sounds like you will probably need surgery with metal plates and screws to maintain the reduction of your BBFF both bones forearm fracture and hand fractures eval and treated similarly open vs closed reduction and fixation. If open need tetanus and IV abx ASAP

This needs more-: -than that as treatment. If you are able seek medical help. An orthopedic surgeon would be great, but I don't know what access you have to such care.

What are some symptoms of a broken hand compared to a sprain without a broken bone?

What are some symptoms of a broken hand compared to a sprain without a broken bone?

Often the same: Symptoms of hand fracture and sprain include pain, swelling and decreased motion. Hand fractures and sprains can occur from similar mechanisms of injury. Moreover, what looks like a simple sprain can be a complex fracture that requires treatment (immobilization or surgery). Therefore, it is important to be evaluated if symptoms from hand/finger injuries don't improve after a few days.

How long did it take you to recover after broken hand?

6-8 weeks: Is a typical bone healing time but for fractures that need reduction and or surgery while the bone is mechanically healed after 6-8 weeks I always tell patients that it is several month process and months later before the wrist and hand begin to feel more " normal". Much also depends on the severity if fracture as a simple nondisplaced hairline fracture is very different from one needing operative.
