Depends on Diagnosis: We have 1 word for butt pain: hemorrhoids! real hems are varicose/enlarged blood vessels in anal canal=internal or skin=external. They don't hurt unless they clot="thrombosed." hems never go away -- they are an enlarged vein! clots in them dissolve in 2-4 weeks. afew days: If not thrombosed, or 2-3 weeks if thrombosed. Repeated attacks will leave redundant skin tags which are not hemorrhoids, and they will persist once formed unless you have surgery to remove them, which i generally do not recommend unless having more extensive hemorrhoid surgery anyway. ...Read more
