Probiotic: Long term antibiotics, while many doctors use them for recurrent UTI's, are probably not a good idea. Long term use of antibiotics selects out for bacteria that are resistant to that antibiotic and will likely eventually lead to an untreatable organism. 4 days: You can take Azo while you are on antibiotics for a UTI; however, you should follow the directions and not use Azo longer than recommended in the directions. Also If you have been on antibiotics for 4 days and aren't getting better, you may have an infection that isn't sensitive to the antibiotic you are on. Doesn't matter: Cloudy urine usually isn't due to infection but to variations in diet and fluid intake. It may not clear up at all. The important thing is whether UTI symptoms themselves are improving: painful or urgent urination, and so on. If so, the UTI is getting better. If not, contact your doctor. And by the way, cranberry doesn't treat or prevent UTI. Drink it if you like it, otherwise no need. ...Read more
