How Long Does Ic Last
Also called interstitial cystitis, this is a chronic condition of the bladder that causes pain in the pelvis and low abdomen. The exact cause is unknown but seems to have some correlation with endometriosis and is more common in women. Ongoing research by urogynecologists and urologists are trying to better understand what causes it and how to treat it. Diet has ...Read more

How long to wait after taking hydrocodone before I start ultram, given for uti with ic.Had Hydro left from last infection & took til was seen.
Don't take...: ...hydrocodone to treat the pain of a UTI and IC. Hydrocodone and ultram are different drugs, but together may worsen the associated euphoria. To be safe, just wait 4 hours for the hydrocodone to wear off. Make sure you follow-up with your physician if the pain worsens and the UTI symptoms do not subside. ...Read more
I'm a newly diag. IC patient. Does elimron have a lot of side effects? If so do they last the whole time you are taking it?
Few, not common: The Elmiron (pentosan) is a very effective treatment. I have used it extensively in my practice. I have encountered very few side effects. You really cannot predict who will have side effects. I advise that you should give it a try. Remember that to really benefit from it you should try to take it three times a day and for 3 months, yes 3 months, it works slowly. ...Read more

So, you had: A miscarriage at 19 weeks due to ic? Does that mean interstitial cystitis? If so, interstitial cystitis does not cause miscarriages. Not enough info: Discussing the CBC of someone on chemotherapy without knowing -- 1) chemo type, duration, dose, most recent and 2) type of cancer -- is not helpful. Trying to dig for information online for this specific, patient specific information is not helpful. Talk with his hematologist/oncologist. ...Read more

Here are some ...: The relevance of the contents in this Q is unclear, but my sifting through it suggests concerning her mental alteration possibly related with symptomatic UTI. So, it's hard to blame UTI as sole cause of such change ...Read more
on vagifem on:off for 2yrs. Not menopause. Vagifem for ic but concerned about long term usage. Irregular cycles lately = worried endometrial cancer?
Not to worry.: Irregular cycles are most probably due to perimenopause. As long as your vagifem use is as per recommendations by your GYN, you do not have to worry about endometrial cancer. However, you should use precautions to avoid pregnancy, because one can still get pregnant with irregular cycles. Certainly, any irregular bleeding such as prolonged, heavy, frequent menses should be investigated as well. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

Infection?: You may have a urinary tract infection. If you can take over-the-counter Azo (or other urinary tract analgesic) and it helps, then likely that is what is going on and you need to get checked and treated promptly. It could be something else and the only way to figure out what's going on is to see your doc. If you have fever, vomiting and pain in the mid back (over your kidneys), call doc or ER. ...Read more
