Can i prepare the milk formula for my newborn baby and store it in the fridge? If yes, how long it lasts in the fridge?

Can i prepare the milk formula for my newborn baby and store it in the fridge? If yes, how long it lasts in the fridge?

Read the label: Every formula is slightly different - read the label of your formula. Most do not recommend mixing the formula very far ahead of time, but you'll need to read the label to see. The reason, especially for a newborn is that, once mixed, bacteria could grow in the formula (rich with nutrients) once water is added. Always follow the label directions exactly. It's best for baby. ...Read more

Immediately: If this is related to a typical viral vomiting illness in the child, then immediately. The key is to give small amounts at a time, then gradually increase the volume as baby tolerates. Watch wet diapers, want to have one every 8 hours or so. Wash your hands! Best of Luck! ...Read more

My 10 month old baby has stomach flu how long or days should the diahrrea last and all the sympthoms? She's in playful but don't eat 2 too much formula

Stomach "flu": (viral) usually last 24-48 hours. Keep baby hydrated with sips of pedialyte/formula/ watered down juice. Since she's playful, symptoms should rapidly subside. Bacterial gastroenteritis' symptoms may be more severe & last longer so that medical intervention may be needed to prevent dehydration. Braty diet (banana, rice, applesauce, toast, yogurt) may help, too. ...Read more

How long can I leave mixed formula out in room temperature before my baby drinks it?

If you pulled it out of the refrigerator and it sat out at room temperature, it is good for the whole day. This assumes you clean your bottles like you do regular dishes & don't reuse before cleaning. ...Read more

Ready to use formula that was opened last monday (soy) and it wasn't thrown away and the sitter gave him less then an ounce is he going to get sick?

Don't use: Rtf formula is only good for 48 hours after opening. Sounds like the sitter made an honest mistake. He had a small amount and one time only, so you may dodge any problems. It could happen for him to develop gastrointestinal symptoms. If so, let your pediatrician know what happened so they can do appropriate stool tests. ...Read more

I give 7w baby 4oz formula on demand every 3-4 hours and at longer stretches during the night. Usually 24oz per day. Is that too little?

I give 7w baby 4oz formula on demand every 3-4 hours and at longer stretches during the night. Usually 24oz per day. Is that too little?

Dr. can check at 3mo: A young baby makes his own schedule and will fuss or cry if still hungry. Healthy babies are fed "ad lib", which means we let the baby decide how much to drink. (Usually, after 3 months of age a normal baby can be allowed to go 6-7 hours at night without feeding or other parental interaction.) The pediatrician can check the baby's growth at the 2 month check up next week, to make sure it's normal. ...Read more
