How long should fevers from teething last?

How long should fevers from teething last?

? Teething Fever ?: I'm not convinced kids have teething fever & if they do it would be low grade at most. Since teething can encompass the first 3 yrs & the are due for 5-7 respiratory & 3 diarrheal illness/yr at the same time there is bound to be some overlap.I would be concerned with persistent fever in a kid whose feeding & activity decline & want that kid seen.If playful & happy during the process, just monitor. ...Read more

Loose link: There is no strong evidence that teething causes diarrhea or fever, contrary to popular belief. Green stools in an infant can be caused by infection, diet, or malabsorption. Babies with non-bloody diarrhea without vomiting, weight loss, fever or other signs of illness can be closely monitored for a few days, but beyond this should be evaluated for an underlying condition. ...Read more

7mo old up crying last night. Pulling at ears, no fever. Has 2 teeth, but never screamed at night like that. Seems ok today. Dr or wait?

Crying Babies: There is nothing more aggravating as seeing your child in pain or misery. But, it sounds like the crying has subsided today? If it has then waiting is fine. But if not i would want to know if the child is having a fever? Eating? Lethargic? If there are any acute worrisome signs today then getting into the clinic is appropriate and perhaps urgent today. ...Read more

My baby is 8/12 old, his temp is 39 for the last 4 days, i don't know why? He has no flu no cough nothing but he start teething is that normal ?

My baby is 8/12 old, his temp is 39 for the last 4 days, i don't know why? He has no flu no cough nothing but he start teething is that normal ?

Probably a virus: At 8 1/2 months old they teeth still. When teething their resistance is down and they are more prone to pick up illnesses, especially viruses. Without other symptoms at this time it probably is a virus. If you are worried there is never harm in getting baby checked by your doctor. Fevers in that range are common for babies that age with most viral infections but should break in 3-5 days. ...Read more

I can't afford teething medicine is there anything i can do for my baby hes in pain and has a fever?

I can't afford teething medicine is there anything i can do for my baby hes in pain and has a fever?

Teething Pain: I would recommend a baby aspirin, following the directions on the bottle or box that it comes in. You can rub the gums gently, similar to a massage, with your fingertip, or even a moist q-tip. Ideally, oragej would be a good solution that is safe for babies that are teething. I do not think that this is very expensive, and a single tube should last for your baby's entire teething period. ...Read more

My 5 montha old baby has been having a fever around 37.1c since yesterday. He is feeding and active. Should i be worried? Could it be he is teething?

Not fever: Under 38c which is 100.4f is not considered fever why did you take it he could be teething but that alone would not cause a fever. If teething you are lucky as he is not showing it i would not take the temp unless the baby is showing some abnormal behavior or symptoms i assume you are following your md advice about feeding and have started solid foods good luck with your child. ...Read more
