3-5 days: Viral infections last typically about 3-5 days of fever. I am not sure why you think it is from overheating. Why do I sometimes wake up during the night drenched in sweat? I only use light blankets and i know it's not just overheating and it isn't a fever.
Night sweats: Although these may be to hormonal changes during adolescence it would be helpful to know when you are taking your temperature. Since sweating is one of the body's ways of lowering temps, you should be taking your temp before the onset of the sweating to see if you have a fever. Healthy activity: A walk in the park is a wonderful way to get some exercise.
