If you fall asleep the effects should dissipate by the time you wake up. Drink water to help with dry mouth symptoms. Relax and try listening to music. I am 51 years old been going through menapause for a couple of years.. I have a very very extreme dry mouth.. I eat ice all day long is this a common symptom..

I don't think so.: Menopause is not likely to be the problem. The most likely reasons are medications you're taking (over 400 cause dry mouths as a side effect) or undiagnosed and untreated diabetes. There are other sources, too. See your physician about this. If he can't help, see a dentist. ...Read more

Does a dry mouth cause your tongue to feel tired when chewing and sore. I haven't ate a much, and it takes me longer to eat because it feels tired. ?

Saliva: It can. Saliva helps break down carbohydrate in food. If you are lacking saliva, it is like chewing a hand full of saltine crackers all at once. You can't break down the food very easily and instead of the chemicals (salivary enzymes) helping break down the food, you rely more on your tongue and teeth, which means more chewing and sore/tired muscles. At your age, go see a dentist for the cause. ...Read more
