An indoscopy showed i may have celiac disease .. How often would u get diarrhea with celiac disease?

Gluten in diet: By having gluten in your diet, even in hidden sources that you might not be aware of, the diarrhea would be evidence to you that you have gluten in the diet. I have celiac disease. Eat 100% gluten free, still get diarrhea. I take 12-30 imodium (loperamide) to stop it. Is this okay?

Talk to your Dr: 1) Your doctor can check antibody levels as a surrogate to celiac disease activity. If they are up you may be eating gluten in hidden items (for example if something is fried in oil that also fired wheat containing food). 2) Another consideration is small bacterial overgrowth. Talk to your doctor to see if this fits. 3) Alternatively you may be in the rare group who are refractory to the diet. ...Read more
