Possibilities...: A cough that lasts for 4 months is by definition a chronic cough. Possible causes include bronchospasm, GERD, sinus disease. Each of these should be aggressively treated until the cough is controlled. The likely diagnosis is bronchospasm which can be treated with bronchodilator and steroid inhalers. Antibiotics are not needed since an infection would be shorter duration. See a lung doctor. ...Read more

When i get a cold it takes 3 weeks to get over it, longer if I have a cough. I have asthma too , could that be why it takes longer to recover ?

Let's see: Do you meant that you start to wheeze and cough only when you lie down, then this lasts up to 3 hrs after standing up? If so, this may be from acid reflux which often co-exists with asthma and makes asthma symptoms worse. See your doctor about this. ...Read more

Depends: It all depends on the type of pneumonia you have and whether the abx is the correct one. Most abx , if it works, should be working in about 4 days or less. If not better, contact the doctor again to find out if another abx may be needed if at all. ...Read more
