Be patient, mom!: As long as your child is not asthmatic, viral upper respiratory infections (aka colds) resolve in about 2 weeks. Try honey, mentholated rubs and delsym (dextromethorphan) for cough relief, but avoid otc cold symptom relievers. Red flags: return of fever, marked lethargy or unusual irritability, audible wheezing or marked difficulty breathing. ...Read more

Many potential: First thing I would suggest you doing, is having an EEG, an electroencephalogram. This will determine, if these periodic brain fog may be related to a seizure phenomena, another cause of brain fog that comes and goes, is migraines. Coughing for a few months, mild mostly dry. Month and a half mild shortness breath.what can it be? How long before pneumonia symptoms show?

This is not pneumoni: Pneumonia is an acute infection of the lung. It develops rather suddenly, over 3-5 days and does not linger on for more than one to 3 weeks. Anything persisting longer requires complete evaluation for allergies or for a more chronic condition. Go see a Pulmonologist for further advice. ...Read more

If the child is thriving and gaining weight, there is probably no worry. Again this is extremely common in this age group. Please check with your pediatrician. ...Read more

Depends: The fever often depends on the type of germ involved & where it is located. Many infant illnesses are viral & fever will last several days before recovery. As long as baby is taking in enough fluids to wet every 6hrs or better, is playful for much of the day & has no specific symptoms you can let it run its course. If baby can't seem to be playful at all, looks sickly or otherwise spooks you go in. ...Read more
