Can your cervix be soft, high and open and not ovulate?

Can your cervix be soft, high and open and not ovulate?

Yes: The muscles, epithelium and connective tissues which make up your cervix may not always reflect the hormonal changes of your cycle. A "soft, high and open cervix" may or may not be a sign that you ovulated. There are other more reliable ways you should explore with your gynecologist (Basal Body Temperature, changes in cervical mucus, ovulation tests/kits, etc.) ...Read more

If my cervix is high soft and open but I have a white sticky discharge what does that mean. Is it part of ovulation?

No: Checking your cervix is not a reliable way of checking for ovulation; it can cause bleeding and is simply not reliable, I wouldn't waste your time. Discharge can be associated with ovulation of course, but it's fairly non-specific. ...Read more

Can I get pregnant from sex 5 days before ovulation? 25 day cycle (cd10 sex) (cd16 cramps/twitches n stomach)low, soft, open cervix cd16 morning?

Guaranteed safe sex?: There are two guaranteed methods to not get pregnant after having had heterosexual relations. The first is for the woman to not have any functional ovaries. The second is for the man to not have any functional testes. In every other scenario, and I mean every other scenario, pregnancy is always a possibility after heterosexual relations. ...Read more

High hard open cervix. Pregnant or no? Two weeks before period. What does closed cervix feel like? Could it possibly be the end of ovulation?

Open & shut answer: This a a "hard" question to answer without context of more information to determine why you are concerned if the cervix is 'open" or not. Pregnancy generally softens the cervix, and open versus closed cervix is relevant at the end of pregnancy prior to labor not ovulation. ...Read more

Is it possible to conceive when you're not fertile or when you're not ovulating? And around what time do your cervix began to open to release a egg

Conception: The ideal time to conceive is usually mid-cycle. Although that is the most likely time to conceive, you can see that any point during their cycle except for at the time of menses.Your egg comes from ovary not the cervix. However, at mid-cycle cervix does open to allow sperm to enter. ...Read more

I'm 5dpo my cervix is higher softer and fells open could I be pregnant or did I ovulate later no CM tho like b4 my expected ovulation my cervix wet?

Take the test: If you want to know if you are pregnant, take a test. In today's world you do not need to wonder if you are pregnant or not based on symptoms. Pregnancy tests are available at any pharmacy and in minutes you will have your answer. They can detect a pregnancy 7-10 days after conception. The best time to take one is when you miss your period. Ovulation: is it possible to conceive before ovulation, or you must only conceive during or after ovulation? And how long can sperm live inside cervix

Impossible: It is impossible to conceive before ovulation because the egg hasn't come out yet. Sperm that made their way past the cervix can live about 3 days (occasionally longer, but that's hard to prove in an individual woman). ...Read more

How long after ovulation when becoming pregnant do cervix become firm and mucus plug begins to form?

How long after ovulation when becoming pregnant do cervix become firm and mucus plug begins to form?

1-2 days: The cervical mucus becomes thin and watery to allow sperm entry into the uterus and tubes. The change is largely related to the estrogen hormone increase leading to ovulation. After ovulation, the ovary produces Progesterone (p4), which prepares the endometrium for implantation. P4 also changes mucus to thick dense mucus blocking sperm. P4 in bcp also helps with contraception. ...Read more

How long after ovulation is the cervix high and soft? I think I ovulated 3-4 days ago, I am also still having light cramping near ovaries

No need to check: Cervical position and consistency is only relevant when you are pregnant especially in the late 3rd trimester. Hormonal changes during the menstrual cycle cause very subtle changes in the cervix that are not important to monitor. No judgments or clinical decision making can be accurately made based on cervical position or consistency in a non-pregnant patient. ...Read more

Ovulation suspected, cervix high and soft slightly open, but no ewcd, instead watery clear discharge. Does this indicate low estrogen/ infertility?

Not likely: Low estrogen would actually usually cause a scant thick cervical mucus. You could always consider asking your doctor to do a post coital test and look for cervical mucus ferning as well. However, with the availability of ovulation prediction kits over the counter I would probably suggest using those first. ...Read more

I have been trying to concieve and I have had all the test and evreything is fine, how do I get my cervix to open during ovulation to let the swimmers in as it's not opening?

Why do you say that?: Did your doctor tell you that your cervix isn't open or did it just feel that way to you? The cervical opening is small but the swimmers are much smaller. Since "everything is fine" that would include your cervical anatomy. If your cervix was closed, you wouldn't even menstruate. The only thing that might block the swimmers would be thick cervical mucus. Get clarification from your doctor. ...Read more

Yes.: It is very difficult and subjective to know whether your cervix rises during ovulation. Being able to tell it's soft is pretty good insight by itself. I wouldn't stress over this. How will I know if I'm ovulating and when to check, I was thinking maybe trying to find my cervix but don't k ow what it feels like or how to find it?

Please don't: I don't know where it got started, but this year the popular vogue seems to be for women to check how 'high' their cervices are. This is the worst way I can think of trying to track ovulation: it's difficult to check and means nothing. Counting days, bbt, opk, even checking cervical mucus makes more sense. Good luck. ...Read more
