Pain in mid back left side that rotates some frontwards.Started as pressure month ago. Progressively worse. No uti, cystitis,or blood in urine.Causes?
Time to get checkup: Any pain that persists and gets worse over one month, requires medical check up to find its cause. I assume that you have seen a doctor who is looking into possible causes. Since UTI has been ruled out, I would focus on structures located in the left upper abdomen like Kidney, spleen, paraspinal muscles and spine itself. If the pain is more than mild, I would consider doing a CT scan of the abdome ...Read more

But you say you "always"have blood in urine.Whether it is microscopic or visible to the eye it is still blood. This is why your doctor wants radiographic study because there are many causes of hematuria above the bladder which will not show at cystoscopy. Go ahead with doctor's advice.Good luck ...Read moreSee 2 more doctor answers

Yes: And find out whether the hematuria is due to infection or to some underlying / concurrent problem. Normal to still find blood in urine (non hemolysis, dipsticks) 8 days after stopping antibiotics (for a possible cystitis, no infection diagnosed)?
No: Its never normal to have blood in your urine. However, sometimes it can be contaminant from period blood. The best thing to do is to repeat it down the road. If you have persistent microscopic blood in your urine, this needs to be worked up. It can be caused by kidney stones, bladder polyps or, more rarely, even bladder cancer. Best wishes! ...Read more
