How long should numbness last after wisdom teeth extraction?

How long should numbness last after wisdom teeth extraction?

How severe?: I have first hand experienced getting a numbness in my tongue when my wisdom tooth was extracted at age 17. Sometimes it is very transient lasting from days to months and sometimes for many years. I hope no one ever experiences it! ...Read more

How long does referred pain in other teeth last after wisdom teeth extraction? I am day 11 post op and feeling pain in two teeth nearby.

How long will the pain from wisdom teeth extraction last?

How long will the pain from wisdom teeth extraction last?

Depends: Some patients have no pain and some have a ton. Some are great the next day, and some develop dry socket. I have found that typically the younger the patients are, the better they heal and the less pain they have. It is also directly related to the extent of the surgical procedure. Some 3rd molar surgeries are extensive. Contact your surgeon and they might have a ballpark figure. Hope that helps. ...Read more
