How Long Does Benzoyl Peroxide Take To Clear Skin
Can i know if darkened skin from chemical burn like Benzoyl Peroxide will be able to heal on its own and return to the same skin tone as the surrounding skin ? How long does it usually take to heal or is it permanent ?
Moisturizers help: When acne creams or gels are strong on the face, and there is facial inflammation, twice a day moisturizing cream helps. Such patients may find that over-the-counter hydrocortisone cream twice a day for one week, can also help. One can talk with one's primary care doctor or a dermatologist, to get more help if worried. Life is not so predictable. Skin darkening sometimes take years to fade. ...Read more
How can i treat redness / burn from aha and bha or benzoyl peroxide. Are the darkness and redness permenant ? If not how long does it usually take for my skin to recover to its natural skin tone and texture ?
Skin pigment. : Most cases of such “burns“ are actually irritations of the epidermis where the pigment is made. Yes: Excellent first choice. The redness is to be expected at the beginning; you may reduce dose or frequency. If you are not clear in two weeks, or you find benzoyl peroxide too rough for yourself, your personal physician may be able to help -- though i bet you'll be good in two weeks. Best wishes. ...Read more
Can you advise an acne medication that contains salicylic acid and benzoyl peroxide? I had clear skin, and now I am suddenly breaking out!
Two products: These are two effective ingredients in acne treatments, but they work differently and I don't think are usually combined in the same product. Salicyclic acid aids exfoliation and prevents clogged pores. Benzoyl peroxide works by killing bacteria that cause breakouts. They are both very drying so figuring out how much of each your skin can handle is important. I think you need two products:) ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
So my acne recently flared up and I haven't had clear skin for over a month now i've tried using clindamycin, benzaclin, (clindamycin and benzoyl peroxide) but they don't seem to work?
Next level: Ask your physician whether it is appropriate to add to your treatment regimen a topical treatment that includes both Clindamycin and a retinoic acid derivative, and begin an oral antibiotic. Since you're male, consider tetracycline 250 mg twice a day -- it kept me reasonably clear for 25 years. Good luck -- today all acne can be treated effectively. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
