Yes be patient: 12 weeks seems like a long time and quite honestly it's possible that some degree of neuropathy may also last in her legs but the symptoms of paresthesias or tingling are as a result of the infection. Depending upon severity she may take up to a few more months or up to 1 year to resolve. Ask your orthopod: Only the doctor who has examined you and seen your x-rays can give you a good answer for your particular situation. It often takes 6-10 weeks before you are ready. If you put weight on it too on you risk more damage and an even longer stay in a cast. ...Read more

Not typically: If the pain is running from your lower back down your leg i would be more worried about something like sciatica where the nerve e down the back of your leg is pinched or trapped or inflamed leading to those symptoms. Lymph nodes: Rather than scaring you, an active lymph node doing it's job to fight off infection, should reassure and encourage you about your body's health. A reactive lymph node is working when it is swollen. It is doing it's job. It takes some time to return to a normal quiet state after the infection and all of the foreign material is taken care of.
