How Long Does A Viral Cold Last
Can you give a 7 yr old clindamyacin to help get over a 9 day old fever/cold, cough has gotten stronger. How long does a viral infection last?
My : My general rule of thumb in my clinic is that a cold that worsens after a week instead of improving needs to be re-evaluated. Most viral infections tend to improve after a week on their own. Clindamycin is an antibiotic which works for some infections, but not for others, so an exam is very important so he/she gets the correct treatment. Do not use the Clindamycin unless instructed to by the child's doctor. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
