Not sure: Fever blisters or hsv I viral outbreaks can be shortened by immediate use of zovirax, (acyclovir) but if not taken before 48 or so hours into it, it will be of little benefit. I do not know the specific body clearance for the drug, but as it is dosed every 4 hours, I imagine it is cleared rapidly.
