But if the partner with whom you are sharing this infection also has been treated, and if any symptoms are starting to improve, sex with each other shouldn't hurt anything. But for sure no unprotected sex with untreated or new partners until at least 7 days have passed. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

I took azithromycin in one big dose of 1g to cure nsu, how long before the medicine should have cleared the bacteria as I just had sex after 6 days?
Should be OK: It is usually recommended to avoid sex for a week and until symptoms are completely gone, and 6 days is a bit early. However, best to discuss with the doctor or clinic where you were treated. ...Read more
How long does it usually take for one dose of 1,000 mg Azithromycin to clear up a RECTAL Chlamydia infection? I still have minor symptoms 11 days later after taking Azithromycin. Should I re-check?
Seven days: You should not have sex again until you and your sex partner(s) have completed treatment. If your doctor prescribes a single dose of medication, you should wait seven days after taking the medicine before having sex. If your doctor prescribes a medicine for you to take for seven days, you should wait until you have taken all of the doses before having sex. I think you should get rechecked. ...Read moreSee 2 more doctor answers
