How long will it take for my internal hemorrhoids to go away? What can I do to get rid of them? I have painful bowel movements that bleed.
If you want to only care for this without any surgical intervention, then psyllium fiber or an equivalent is likely the best treatment for long term. Make sure you purchase unflavored psyllium. Start with a teaspoon a night mixed in 16 oz of water every night.
Unless they are stuck out and causing significant pain or itching, surgery can usually be avoided.
You should consider seeing your doc. ...Read more

I was recently diagnosed with internal hemorrhoids. What can I do when I have bleeding. Can I do something to prevent bleeding?
Use stool softener.: Both as treatment and prevention. Eat more fiber, drink more water and exercise more. Hemorrhoids are basically veins that have been injured by our bad habits. Don't let your stools become very hard, the job of the colon is to recover the fluid in the stool;if we do not drink enough water, or eat only highly processed food (no fiber) and don't exercise (the helper to bowel transit) we can expect problems. ...Read more

Why would I still have bleeding from internal hemorrhoids 2 weeks after having the banding ligation procedure done?
Thrombosing: Banding hemorrhoids causes them to thrombose, or clot off. But this may shift venous flow to other dilated veins in the rectum leading to new hemorrhoids. So it's either that the old hemorrhoids have clotted but continue to ooze, or that new hemorrhoids have formed. You should ask your doctor to examine you for more information. ...Read more

Internal hemorrhoids that are not bleeding but, are now pretruding at times thru the anus. Should they be removed?
Probably: Hemorrhoids are veins that can protrude through the anus. They can strangulate and clot if they protrude often enough. A proctologist or a surgeon can remove them in the office by putting a rubber band around them and then they just fall off. It isn't painful since the lining inside of the rectum is insensitive to pain. However, if they are external hemorrhoids the pain would be extreme. ...Read more
